The meaning of  Jinchuang  Logistics on container-free rental and stack-free

When the container volume is large or the destination is far away from the unloading port, the customer usually requests to apply for a long enough container-free period when booking. I only know that it is easier to avoid cabinets, and it is relatively difficult to avoid heaps. What is the difference? Let me share with you here.www.www.com

DEMURRAGE: refers to the overdue (overdue) usage fee for the container under the control of the carrier or its agent, usually refers to the overdue usage fee for the container at the destination terminal or yard before the consignee clears the customs and picks up the goods.

DETENTION: refers to the overdue (overdue) usage fee for the container under the control of the consignee, that is, the consignee lifts the container out of the yard or terminal after customs clearance and fails to return the empty container within the specified time. www.www.com

Free Demurrage & free detention both refer to demurrage charges. The difference between the two is:

Free Demurrage: The calculation starts from the unloading of the container to the wharf until the container is lifted out of the wharf;

Free Detention: The container is counted from the time it is withdrawn from the pier, and it ends when the empty container returns to the pier;

There is also a Free storage period: This is the dock storage fee, which starts from the unloading of the container to the dock and ends when the container is picked up.

Among them, Free demurrage & detention is charged by the shipping company because it is a demurrage fee. Normally, it is about 7 days. In some ports, due to transit or other reasons, the application can be applied for 10-14 days, and the longer application can be applied for 21 days;

Free Storage is the storage fee charged by the terminal, usually within 5-7 days, and it is usually difficult to apply.

The difference between FREE TIME, FREE DEMURRAGE and FREE DETENTION
1. The rent-free period of the container in the terminal after the goods arrive at the port: Free Demurrage;
2. Rent-free period for containers to be towed away from the terminal after the goods arrive at the port: Free Detention;
3. Free storage period when the container is pushed to the terminal: Free Storage.
Two of them, 1 and 2, are decided by the shipping company, so they can apply to the shipping company. In general, the applied and approved Freetime = Free Demurrage + Free Detention. Under normal circumstances, the free time at the port of destination is 7 days, and the general shipping company will approve the application for 14 days. It is a bit difficult to apply for 21 days, unless it is a stable customer or the shipping company has too many cabinets in the port to use. Many people do not understand the difference between Demurrage and Detention. Storage is the container storage fee charged by the terminal to the shipping company. The time of Free storage depends on the terminal, not the shipping company. www.www.com
